Two papers from the Education Policy Institute provide analysis of this year’s results. Some of the findings are:
For Level 2 (link to report):
- Geographic disparities persist – it was still the case that pupils in the South East and in particular London outperform pupils elsewhere;
- Girls outperform boys – but the gap continues to narrow;
- Almost all subjects have similar grade distributions to last year.
For Level 3 (link to report):
- The proportion of A levels awarded top grades (A/A*) increased to 28.3 per cent;
- T level retention rates have risen again this year to 77 per cent;
- Male students received more top grades than females.
