Using AI to analyse 30,000 school policies

The Key’s Robin AI tool has “read” just shy of 30,000 policy documents from over 1,000 schools. This blog looks at the data generated to see if anything interesting could be revealed. A huge caveat is that this is not science: no effort was made to ensure the 1,035 schools were representative. In fact, they’re nearly all academies. And nearly all of the MATs that those academies are in have some relationship with The Key Group. But there still are some interesting insights to be gleaned.

Some of the findings iclude:

  • The average number of policies published by a school is just under 30;
  • The top two are Child Protection and Admissions;
  • 32% were overdue for a review (worse in primary schools than secondaries).
